We have officially passed the midpoint in the NFL season, and many fans have indicated that this year is flying by.
At this point in the year, many teams have established themselves as playoff hopefuls, with some looking like legitimate Super Bowl contenders.
Teams like the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, and Detroit Lions were preseason favorites to win it all, but some new favorites have emerged.
For instance, the Washington Commanders are playing much, much better than originally anticipated, and they’re currently on top of the NFC East.
The Atlanta Falcons are another team that is playing much better than they did last year, as Kirk Cousins has worked wonders for this offense.
They are in a great position to win the NFC South, especially since the rest of the division is having a down year.
Reporter Will McFadden recently posted on X that the team has given Lorenzo Carter the green light to return from IR, giving him 21 days to come back into the fold.
McFadden also noted that Jakeem Grant was added to the practice squad, subsequently releasing Tyreek Maddox-Williams.
The Atlanta Falcons have designated veteran linebacker Lorenzo Cater to return from IR, beginning his 21-day window to practice with the team.
Atlanta also signed WR/KR Jakeem Grant to the practice squad and released LB Tyreek Maddox-Williams. https://t.co/jo7WxpAIH7
While none of these moves seem ground-breaking to fans, they might be encouraged by the fact that the Falcons are doing something.
This is a team that should feel confident about their chances of making the playoffs, perhaps winning a game or two in the process.
Cousins’ veteran presence has done a lot for the locker room, and now that they have a legitimate quarterback, the sky is the limit.
