The biggest question mark for the Pittsburgh Steelers coming into the 2024 NFL season was whether the team could be a force to be reckoned with on the offensive side of the football, with the storied franchise bringing in Russell Wilson and Justin Fields to address their problems at the quarterback position.
So far, the quarterback position hasn’t been a problem for the Steelers, and neither has much of anything else, as Pittsburgh is dominating on a weekly basis during the 2024 campaign, winning five straight games and getting the best of Lamar Jackson and the division-rival Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
Although the Ravens have been one of the best teams in the league this season, with Jackson making a solid case for another NFL MVP award while leading arguably the NFL’s best offense, Pittsburgh put them in their place in Week 11 by making Baltimore rattled offensively.
In the aftermath of the Ravens looking lost against the Steelers, former NFL superstar Drew Brees believes Pittsburgh has no fear of Baltimore, which has proven to be the difference when these two division rivals go head-to-head via The Herd with Colin Cowherd.
“I’ll say this, Pittsburgh doesn’t fear Baltimore,” Brees said. “I think there’s a lot of teams that step on the field with Baltimore, and all of a sudden, you get Lamar making some plays and Derrick Henry running downhill at you, and I’m sure they get intimidated, but I think we know by now, the Mike Tomlin-led Steelers, they don’t fear anybody. They certainly don’t fear anybody in the division.”
Even though the Ravens are an incredibly talented football team armed with an elite quarterback, the team seems to struggle against equally talented teams that are ready for them.
It’ll be interesting to see if head coach John Harbaugh can figure out how to get his team locked in for the postseason or it could be the same result as last year.
