After two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning called it a career, the New York Giants were confident they had found the successor to the star quarterback who had been the face of the storied franchise for a long time.
Daniel Jones was brought in to replace a legend in New York, which is no easy task, but the Giants thought he had what it took to replace Manning and get this team back in the right direction in the NFC.
Unfortunately for the Giants, Jones hasn’t panned out since becoming the starter under center in New York, as he has been incredibly inconsistent and clearly not the right answer for the team as the new face of the team in the post-Manning era.
After the team’s bye week and the Giants sporting a record of 2-8, the Giants have decided to make a change at quarterback, with Jones headed to the bench in favor of Tommy DeVito.
Adam Schein of Mad Dog Sports Radio believes that after this demotion, Jones will never get another opportunity to start for a team in the NFL again.
“Daniel Jones will never be given a starting quarterback job ever again. This is not Sam Darnold. This is not Baker Mayfield,” Schein said.

Although Jones’ time as a starter in New York has come to an end and justifiably so, it’s too early to say he won’t get another chance, as anything can happen moving forward.
However, he won’t be a team’s first choice because if he gets another chance, it’ll be a struggling franchise looking for a short-term fix.
