The Pittsburgh Steelers had an up-and-down efficiency of their season-opening win towards the New York Jets.

With that in thoughts, and after coping with some accidents, they’re making some roster strikes.

The Steelers signed veteran security Jabrill Peppers to a one-year contract, signed cornerback James Pierre from the apply squad to the lively roster, signed quarterback Logan Woodside to the apply squad, and positioned linebacker Malik Harrison and quarterback Skylar Thompson on the reserve/injured record.

Peppers will possible exchange DeShon Elliott, who sustained an MCL damage and will probably be sidelined for a number of weeks.

Even when Elliott returns, having a confirmed veteran like Peppers, who was launched by the New England Patriots on the ultimate roster cuts, will probably be useful.

The Steelers’ protection left a lot to be desired of their first recreation, as Justin Fields helped the Jets rating 32 factors.

On offense, the go safety struggled, and it’s worrisome to assume that it took a classic Aaron Rodgers efficiency to safe a win.

Rodgers is arguably one of many biggest QBs of all time, however hoping that he’ll go for 4 touchdowns each week isn’t practical at this level in his profession.

The Steelers should do a greater job of maintaining the opposing group out of the top zone, beginning in Week 2 towards the visiting Seattle Seahawks.
