The Baltimore Ravens rolled the dice to get Jaire Alexander this offseason.
He’s one of the most talented players in the NFL, but he has struggled to stay on the field.
That’s why it’s not encouraging to see the defensive back miss practice.
Asked about that, head coach John Harbaugh said Alexander was dealing with something that’s been bothering him “for a few years,” via Jason B. Hirschhorn.
Former Packers CB Jaire Alexander continues to miss practice with “something he’s been dealing with for a few years,” according to Ravens HC John Harbaugh.
Alexander had his knee drained in July. He missed 10 games in 2024 with a knee injury that eventually required surgery.

The Green Bay Packers tried to work something out to keep him, but when they couldn’t get him to agree to a restructured contract or find a trade partner, they opted to release him.
Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst admitted that, as good a player as Alexander was, they had gotten used to playing and winning without him because of his injury woes.
It didn’t take long before he landed on his feet.
The Ravens got him at a fair price, knowing that they didn’t desperately need him.
If he can give them anything, especially in the playoffs, he’s going to be a worthy pickup.
If not, the team has more than enough to get by.
As such, the Ravens can afford to let him sit out now and get back to full strength later.
Alexander was on an ascending trajectory, yet he has missed 10 games in each of the past two seasons since earning a Pro Bowl nod, and he may never get back to that previous level.
