The Los Angeles Rams are heading towards a troublesome Week 10 matchup in opposition to the rival San Francisco 49ers.

Whereas it could seem that each one is effectively, one subject thus far this season has been the disappointing efficiency of kicker Joshua Karty, who has missed 5 of 15 discipline aim makes an attempt and three further factors.

That could be a main step again from lacking 5 of 34 discipline aim makes an attempt final season.

After Karty missed two kicks of their Week 9 win in opposition to the New Orleans Saints, the Rams determined to make a transfer and signed a former UFL kicker.

“The Rams are signing Okay Harrison Mevis — a.ok.a. ‘The Thiccer Kicker’ — who stands 6-foot, 242 kilos. He went 20-of-21 on discipline targets with the UFL’s Birmingham Stallions,” Ari Meirov wrote on X.

Rams head coach Sean McVay was adamant that the kicking woes can’t proceed, and he positioned the blame on himself and no participant particularly.

It was an aesthetic transfer, as it could have been straightforward to level the finger at Karty, whose job could also be in jeopardy if he misses a kick in opposition to the 49ers.

Mevis has frolicked with the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers as a member of their follow squads and as a coaching camp participant, although he has but to seem in an NFL regular-season recreation.

As a playoff contender, the Rams aren’t standing pat, and it may solely be a matter of time earlier than Mevis will get to make his debut.
